1/16 e revo differential upgrade

It’s actually an essential upgrade that many don’t talk about, and it should be the first step you take for any e revo 1/16. But why is this part so important?

Simply because the differential allows the input to be separated into two outputs that can be rotated at different rates (or speeds).

Thanks to the center differential, the front and rear wheels can spin at different speeds, which means they can send a different amount of force to the front or rear axle.

Problems with the stock part

The stock part distributes power evenly between the front and rear axles, which causes performance issues, especially when accelerating, as the pressure on the plastic rear differential increases, which can lead to rapid failure.

Benefits of a center differential

With a center differential, the load on the rear axle is reduced by transferring some of the power to the front axle, which improves acceleration and prevents rear differential failure. A differential fluid with a 100K concentration is preferred to ensure the best performance.

Differential Fluid Effect

Adding differential fluid converts the gear into a limited-slip gear, which enhances power distribution and prevents over-reliance on the front wheels. It is recommended to use 50K fluid in the front differential and 30K in the rear differential.

Improve differential performance

Open the front and rear differentials and check for any unwanted play or movement.

Use Team Associated shim kit #21141 if necessary to set the gears correctly. Be sure to fill your gears with the proper fluid for maximum performance and control

Of course, this is all a matter of taste. You can test several oils to determine which one suits your driving style.

Upgrade bushings to bearings:

Servo stop

I recommend upgrading the bushings in the servo saver to Traxxas #5114 bearings .

These bearings come as a pair, so you’ll only need one set.

This upgrade will make your routing smoother, faster, easier to manage, and will help extend the life of your routers.

Bearings offer little to no resistance compared to bushings, which generate a lot of friction.

 Rocker arms

A similar story applies to the bushings in the swing arms. Upgrade the bearings with Traxxas #5124 . These bearings also come in pairs, and each of your rocker arms needs a pair.

Since you have four swing arms per vehicle, you will need four sets of bearings.

Hollow ball upgrade

Traxxas hollow balls are made of plastic, and plastic wears down over time, developing play in your suspension and poor handling.

Replace them with Traxxas #7028X hollow steel balls , which will last longer.

Pivot ball caps

The pivot balls are secured to the pivot holders by fixed, non-adjustable plastic caps.

Over time, the plastic wears down and causes unwanted movement of the pivot balls, making your car feel loose.

You can upgrade with Traxxas #7033X Adjustable Pivot Ball Caps , which are bolted on rather than installed, allowing you to eliminate any unwanted slippage.

Make sure not to tighten it too much to avoid damaging another part of the suspension system.

SUV

The Traxxas six-wheeler is made of plastic, and can be upgraded to aluminum parts using Traxxas #7154X . Although they correct

Very slowly, this upgrade is not necessary right out of the box

Upgrade bumper and suspension arms

Upgraded front bumper

To get started, I recommend using the RPM #73982 front bumper . This bumper is much larger than the stock bumper, allowing for better absorption of impact energy.

The rear bumper is so small that the front tires and suspension absorb any frontal impact, which can be greatly improved with a larger bumper.

Upgraded front suspension arms

RPM #80692 Front upper and lower suspension arms are part of the basic modification. Stock levers break easily because they are small and fragile.

RPM arms will last longer than the rest of the truck and be more effective at absorbing shock.

Note that the front of these arms is about 1.5 degrees off because they are somewhat longer than the stock arms.

Rear suspension upgrade

Moving to the rear, I use Traxxas #7132R rear upper and lower suspension arms . These arms, taken from the 1/16 Traxxas Summit, increase the wheelbase by 1cm when mounted on the E-Revo.

By reducing toe-off issues caused by the use of RPM front suspension arms, the increased wheelbase enhances high-speed stability.

Furthermore, it reduces the car’s tendency to understeer, enhancing power and acceleration characteristics.

1/16 Traxxas E Revo tire upgrade

Although Traxxas Talons tires are compact and lightweight, they wear out quickly, especially when driving on pavement. Upgrading to Proline Trenchers #119411 2.2-inch tires is a great idea for this reason.

Since there is no belt, these tires inflate quickly but not as much as the factory tires.

The Proline Trenchers’ tires are also slightly larger than stock tires, so care must be taken to prevent them from overheating.

While these tires perform great on pavement, their real benefits occur off-road, where they thrive in low-traction situations and outperform standard tires in all categories, saving weight.

It is natural and expected that their large stature makes them weigh more.

Furthermore, the material of these tires is of much higher quality than Traxxas products, making them last longer.

I have used these tires extensively on the tarmac over the past months and have lost almost no flesh.

Dealing with the body

Each rollover causes wear and loss of material in the vehicle’s front body pillars.

Since they are always outside and vulnerable to weather damage, front body clips are particularly vulnerable to loss.

To solve the problem of the front body pillars, you can consider using Velcro to fix the body.

They are installed next to the battery compartment doors and inside the body.

This upgrade is available at your local convenience store and is a good solution to improve durability

For the car.

1/16 Traxxas E Revo Battery Upgrade

Speaking of batteries, I use two 3S Traxxas LiPos #2823X in parallel using the Traxxas #3064X parallel connector .

There is a lot of controversy surrounding Traxxas batteries, but the truth is that even though they are more expensive than their competitors, they are worth the money.

the reason? Because it is easy to use. No need to fiddle with current ports, balance, etc., just plug it in and press charge.

Traxxas batteries last a long time thanks to their 25°C discharge rate, which means they are not as stressed as batteries with a higher discharge rate.

If you are using two Traxxas #2823X batteries in parallel with the #3064X connector, you will need to easily remove the small notch on the battery with a pocket knife.

While I don’t agree with using proprietary connectors and chargers that force you into the manufacturer’s ecosystem, Traxxas batteries are good batteries.

If someone is unhappy with the cost, they can buy less expensive batteries from  Amazon  and replace them every two to three months.

Revo 1/16 engine upgrade

Upgrading the 1/16 e revo to the Velineon 380 motor will provide enough power and reliability on the 3S.

Traxxas e Revo 1 16 upgrade power steering

The stock steering servo is plastic and a bit weak.

You can either upgrade it with the faster, more torquey Savox SW-0250MG , or you can upgrade the stock item with metal gears via the Traxxas #2082X kit .

Although they state that this kit does not fit stock machines, this is nothing more than a marketing ploy aimed at getting you to buy brand new machines, thus increasing their profits.

Traxxas E Revo 1/16 shock upgrade

First and foremost, you definitely need Traxxas #7061X GTR shocks .

Eventually, plastic stock shocks cause all of their oil to leak out in a matter of weeks.

These upgraded shocks feature a metal body and a unique titanium nitride (TiN) coating on the shock shafts to improve smoothness.
