Traxxas Mini Maxx Design
The first thing that caught my attention when I took the Traxxas Mini Maxx out of its box was its size, so if you looked at it in a picture without seeing the word “Mini” on the logo, you might think it’s the regular model.
What further amazed me was its design, which ensures its ability to handle rough terrain and even survive intense stunts, like launching from half-pipes, without sustaining significant damage.
The Mini Maxx comes in a range of colors like orange and green, with attractive graphics on the body.
The Mini Maxx weighs only 3.7 pounds, making it lightweight.
Traxxas Mini Maxx Chassis
What I appreciate most about the structure of this RC car is its simplicity and straightforward design. Despite being made of plastic, it still looks sporty from below.
The design resembles a 1/10 scale Maxx car, with an exclusive battery mounting system from Traxxas.
Notable features include the body mount system without clips, which replaces traditional body clips with a more user-friendly mechanism.
Additionally, Traxxas has equipped the car with comprehensive front and rear metal preferences, making it more resistant to wear and tear.
The suspension system found on the new Traxxas Mini Maxx
The suspension system on the Mini Maxx is very similar to that used in the larger version of the truck, designed to be strong and flexible to withstand tough driving conditions.
The vehicle features oil-filled GTR shock absorbers, a threaded chassis, and a pivot ball suspension system, providing smooth movement and easy adjustments.
The design of the suspension system is reinforced with a very durable component and features integrated crystals and bump stops to withstand strong impacts, along with moving sliders that help overcome contaminated terrains.
Thanks to this component, it allows for easy handling of various terrains, whether they are rugged tracks filled with obstacles or smooth, paved surfaces, making it appealing to driving enthusiasts in diverse conditions.
Traxxas Mini Maxx Tires
The used tires are a smaller version of the famous Sledgehammer tires, specifically designed for this truck.
They come in a metallic gray color with a 12mm hex lock, adding an elegant touch to the overall design.
In fact, the size of the tires determines what kind of terrain you can drive on and how much fun you’ll have, and these giant four-inch tires will open up a lot of terrain that the ARRMA Grom can’t drive on.

Traxxas Mini Maxx Review : Performance

The Traxxas Mini Maxx is equipped with a Venom 3S brushless motor with a power of 3300KV, an electronic speed controller (ESC), and a Velineon VXL-4sv system with a TQi 2.4 GHz radio system. This vehicle can reach speeds of up to 30 miles per hour using a 2S LiPo battery.

It is also fully waterproof, unlike other Traxxas vehicles where you find that only one part is waterproof while you have to worry about other components. You won’t have to worry anymore with the Traxxas Mini Maxx!
Radio System
The Traxxas Mini Maxx comes with a TQi 2.4GHz radio system, which provides precise control and interference-free operation.
The controller has a range of customizable settings, allowing users to adjust their driving experience.
Steering System
One noteworthy feature is the steering system. Traxxas has used 1/10 scale components such as planetary gear differentials, which are even larger than those used in the Slash 4×4 truck. This makes the Mini Maxx a truck ready to handle high stress straight from the factory.
Even the drive shafts are taken from 1/10 scale vehicles but have been shortened to fit the size of the mini truck. This design enhances durability and provides strong performance.

What I Like About the Traxxas Maxx Mini
To be honest, I love this car and all its features. However, I really enjoy its uniqueness! It is compact, stylish, fast, high-performing, and a lot of fun.

What I Dislike About the Traxxas Mini Maxx
What I don’t like about the Traxxas Mini Maxx is its lack of advanced technologies that significantly affect the driving experience, such as the absence of a dynamic stabilization system (TSM), making control and steering difficult, especially on uneven surfaces.
Additionally, the servo-based steering system 2056 suffers from slowness and weak torque, noticeably limiting the truck’s response.
Moreover, the truck has a noticeable tendency to dive during jumps due to the absence of a center differential or a slipper clutch, affecting its stability in the air.
Final Verdict
After a thorough review of its features and performance, it is clear that the Traxxas Mini Maxx is one of the best Traxxas RC trucks available, and possibly even the best!
If you are a beginner or have a child who is excited about remote-controlled cars, this is definitely a great option to consider!
