The upgrade I recommend is the Traxxas Magnum 272 solid upper column. The stock column tends to have a pin that can bend, causing the vehicle to stop moving. I’ve broken several of these pins until I switched to the Drag Slash version, and I haven’t had an issue since.
This only costs five dollars, and it’s totally worth it.
Unsurprisingly, installing this shaft requires some time and effort, as the entire rear of the car has to be disassembled. While it’s not difficult, it’s time-consuming.

If your Traxxas Slash 2wd has a high center of gravity chassis, it’s worth considering upgrading to a low center of gravity chassis (LCT). A high center of gravity chassis can negatively affect your vehicle’s maneuverability.
